Minutes of Meeting on January 14, 2026
Acting President Libby Gilbertson called the meeting to order at 12:25 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance and an invocation.
Attendance: (7/25 = 28%), four Students of the Month.
RYE Inbound Cloé Fontenelle reported the Polar Plunge, snowmobiling, sharing New
Year’s Eve with friends, moving to her hosts family, the Nasholds, and differences
between holidays here and in Belgium.
50/50 Raffle: Brent Van Gysel won the drawing and drew the four of spades for the
jackpot, of $165.
Happy $$: Marilyn Green was three times happy for her upcoming three-week vacation.
RYEO Strohschein reported requesting a female RYE Inbound for 2026-27
Gilbertson announced that Calendar Raffle tickets must be sold, that a mattress sale was postponed, and that volunteers were needed to take down lights at Rotary Park.

Minutes of Board Meeting on December 17, 2025
There being a quorum of officers, President Ilse Esveld called the meeting to order at 12:25 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance and an invocation of thanks for good weather and guidance in service.
Attendance: Past President Jake Flood, Secretary Henry St. Maurice, Rotary Youth Exchange Officer Al Strohschein, Counselor Anne Donahue, Sergeant-at-Arms Brent Van Gysel, and Director Amy Sandow. Members: Eric Cotter, Libby Gilbertson, Rick Rexrode. (10/25 = 40%).
Guests: Fall River High School Interact Club Advisor Mark Pyffroen.
RYE Inbound Cloé Fontenelle reported on her trip to New York City.
Happy $$: Henry St. Maurice was happy that his surgery went well, that he would be on the ballot for the April 7th election
for County Board Supervisor in District 21, and that he had donated $79 to polio plus on his birthday. Strohschein was happy to report that Cloé would be moving to her second family, the Nasholds.
Strohschein moved, Flood seconded approval of the minutes of the Board meeting on 10/15/24;
Flood moved and Cotter
seconded approval of the agenda. Flood moved, Donahue seconded approval of the officers ballot. Flood said that he’d consider running for President-Elect.
Flood reported ongoing negotiations with the mattress sale company. Iten was tabled until January. Donahue distributed calendar raffle cards. Payments are due by the end of March. Gilbertson asked about a possible reverse raffle in the spring;
item was tabled until January.
Secretary St. Maurice reported that an honorary membership that was approved for Betty Long required the she reenroll in RI. He reported ongoing conversations about a Kids Against Hunger event in the fall of 2026.
Donahue reported income of $240 at the hot chocolate sale.
Students of the Month reported successful sales of glow sticks and baked goods by interact clubs. Discussion ensued about future events.
RYEO Strohschein and Cotter reported contacts with former RYE students Riku and Pedro
Esveld proposed a Program Committee. Strohschein and St. Maurice volunteered.
